1. Paper Town
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
Cold grey skies
And ruined lives
Endless stretches of nothingness
It's either the road
Or being raped at home
The Sun
And its prophecy
Breaks the clouds
And says "follow me"...
Down in the glenn
A circle of houses
With nothing else about
They're almost
All the same
All painted black...
I wait for nightfall
In the pitch black
The back door is open
As I slide in...
Into the shadows
Not making a sound
I make for the attic
With no one around
Its dry and warm up here
Just me alone with my fears
Living like a ghost
No one will ever know
A living specter
As silent as the grave
Life haunting life
I can hear them
Moving around under my feet
It's life as normal
None the slightest inkling
The first night
Is always the worst
The sounds of love
Drifting from below

2. Only the Boys
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
There's something wrong, with this place
Stripped down
Community
In the middle of nowhere
Curiously...
It's always the same thing everyday
But at night, I can fill in the blanks
The candlelight
showing me the way
Peel back the layers
Of this secluded family
Not a picture anywhere
The house is austere
The path that leads out the back
Gives me the creeps
As silent as a mouse
I rifle the cupboards and drawers
Paydirt, I found it!
A cache of old photos
Not a single one of "them"
Ever smiles
Morose looks
And crazy eyes
In quite a few
Someone's been torn out
The torn edges
Was it rage or was it madness?
The whole thing
Is really getting under my skin
I put the photos back
And scrub my hands on my dirty jeans
There's something wrong with this place...
On the morn
Back, hidden away
I see a sliver of light
Piercing the gloom
A window into the world
The men and boys
Disappearing once again
I wonder where they go?
Into the forest
Back beyond the house
Why go there?
I got to know...
It isn't long before
I'm standing by the back door
That stony path
Leading to nowhere
Little did I know
That path to nowhere
Will lead me
To the deepest depths of hell...

3. Vitrified
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
What's love got to do with it?
when things fall apart
you're head in the clouds
you don't hear it that sound
alarms wailing in the wind
bad news that's calling
I've looked down
the barrel of a gun
When feelings turn to stone
the frigid air and the empty space
broken promises and soiled lace
When the rust,
starts to set in...
corroding everything you believed in
the misery, it moves from the temporary
and asserts itself daily
the person you thought you knew
You find is a stranger to you...
All the love
in the world
can't mend this broken heart
Distrust the order of the day
keeping people at arms length
the look behind the eyes
tells the story of so many lies
The good times they always end
stabbed in the back again
in the beginning you feel that rush
that nervous feeling before you touch
slowly the dream ebbs away
and now love is only a memory
when you finally get yourself straight
you move on cuz it's never to late
To live your life and just do you
when you realize that love's for fools
Pushed away
the death of intimacy
going through the motions
woodenly...
all illusions they dissipate
and you're left with the stark reality
time after time
the wounds they never heal
you don't bounce back
you start to recede
the cataracts of love
that used to blind your eyes
are cast off for the final time
All the love
in the world
can't mend this broken heart
Distrust the order of the day
keeping people at arms length
the look behind the eyes
tells the story of so many lies
The good times they always end
stabbed in the back again
Now that everything has been said and done
no more crying, just moving on
I'm stuck in this attic
and it makes me laugh
in six months I'm back at the start
no more trying to please you
I don't care if you're happy
It's not worth the time
so forget about me
I'm at peace, out on the road
sometimes I wonder why it took me so long...
All the love
in the world
can't mend this broken heart
Distrust the order of the day
keeping people at arms length
the look behind the eyes
tells the story of so many lies
The good times they always end
stabbed in the back again

4. Nyctophile
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
As I first step into the darkness
A death like silence suffocates
I feel the weight of ages
The singularity
Of an entity
Beginning to fill me
I drawn to the Kitchen
The hidden door behind the hutch
Leading down into the earth
I stumble towards it where I fall
With the look of adoration
The look of ecstasy...
The sound from the bedroom
Footsteps coming my way
The revelation,
Heightens my elation
I'm losing myself in the folds of eternity
My old life sorta fades away
My head fills with the memories
Of paradise on earth
Gardens and fountains, love and mirth
I can see a city
Rise out of the ashes to stand before me
The power in my mind
Enticing me with earthly delights
There's something insidious
It doesn't seem right, it's too perfect
I start to have a doubt
I just want to get out
It's far to late to have second thoughts
I see now, what has to be done
The familiarity
Unsettles me...
In a panic...
I fly out the back door
Running blindly down the path
The forests embrace
Hiding me...
Lights in the darkness
Slicing the velvet black
Eyes searching
For the interloper
They're getting closer
My breath it quickens
Looking for a hiding place
There, amongst the stones
I cram my body
Into the space
the smell of rotted earth
takes my breath away...
Inching further
Into the hole
Something gives way
And I'm falling
I slide down into the inky black
Clawing at the dirt
As I fall through
I'm under the ground
I can hear sounds from afar
That make my skin crawl
I stumble towards the source
A door separates us both
I grasp the handle weakly...

5. The Esagila
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
The damp
Seeps into my bones
As torches
Gutter down the hall
This isn't real
But I can't deny
The existence of this place
Sounds getting louder
As I pick up the pace...
The hall it widens
Opening up into a room
Shadows conceal the horror
As I squint in the gloom
Wooden tables
Stained crimson
Straps and chains
designed to restrain
Cleavers and knives
Neatly arranged
The thought it hits
Like a hammer to the head
That horrifying sound
Turns me around
Fingers, clawing at me
Little girls!
Dirty and emaciated
My head turns
To the bloodied table...
SOLO
Oh my god, what the fuck?
The evil is overpowering
This den of inequity
Lances my soul, spiritually
Lights, dancing on the wall
Coming closer
There's almost nowhere to go
A barrel, there in the corner
Is my best bet...
I remove the lid
And climb on in
There's something wet on the bottom
The smell it sickens me
I replace the lid
The men fill the room
Eyes searching for
She who should not be...
SOLO
They're not moving on
And this barrel's making me gag
It reeks of putrefaction
And feels slimy
Then in a fit of rage
They drag a girl from the cage
Strapping her down
And bleeding her there and then
A man approaches
And hacks off her bloody arm
Ripping into the flesh
With nothing but his teeth
SOLO
The silent tears
Shed for things
You can't unsee
The silent survivors
Speaks volumes without a word
Suddenly,
I don't have a care in the world
I feel good
Better than I've been in years
The warmth in my chest
Flowing outward...
The men stop what they're doing
And just leave like they're under command
I stand up out of the barrel
They don't even care
I move to the table
And stare at her
I rip out one of her eyes
Cuz I wanna see
What she saw when she died

6. Evil Ascends
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
"Fee Fie Foe Fum
What has the spider caught?
Lost your way?
Little fly..."
"Your memories
Are delicious...
The exquisite pain
Of the finest vintage"
I throw the gate
Of the prison open
Girls flood,
And fall to their knees
The rapture
Deification made flesh
She Lives again
As the world laments
I lead them
To the gates of freedom
Bloody skies
Announce our arrival
SOLO
The well worn path
leading back to them
13 girls...
With the power of a god
An ancient evil
Always scratching at the door
Filling her
With a thirst for blood
The Esagila
Acts as the conduit
Reaching across the stars
The immense blackened void
There between time and space
for millennia, they wait
The elder gods
Sleep without dreaming
As an outsider
She's the weakest link
A vessel, young but broken
A sacrificial token
Unprotected
By years of spells
Ripe for the taking
And now comes Hell...
SOLO
The crescent moon
Shines from above
By the time
We hit the village
All on their knees
Faces in the dirt
The men they make a line
Flesh glowing, in the moonlight
The women, blades in their hands
Standing in front of them
The girls they sing
To their goddess supreme
SOLO
Blades jab them in the groin
Twisting the steel
To open them up
Blood spurts
Gouting into the air
Fountains of life
Returning to the earth
SOLO
Virgin eyes
Look on dispassionately
As the sacrifice
Completes the deal...

7. Cataclysmic Apotheosis
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
Third eye open
Hexed eternally
Pale white skin, glowing in the dark
My old life
Burned away
Filled by this evil entity
Bloody hands
The perversion of innocence
Weak feelings
Are swept away easily
I am hollow
The fire rages on
Stripping away
What was left of me
Pulled into the black
Stretched and torn
This broken shell
Is longer my own...
Transcendence
Eclipsed by hate
The shadows of my fate
Cold fingers
Caress my skin
As I die a little more, within...
Mothers gouge out their eyes
And slit their wrists
Their part is over
None are allowed to live
Canticles of agony
The blackness surrounds me
Fresh tendrils
Of aversion
SOLO
I am hollow
The fire rages on
Stripping away
What was left of me
Pulled into the black
Stretched and torn
This broken shell
Is longer my own...
Only 13 remain
Myself and the girl slaves
Reaching the depths
Of the purest depravity
Orgiastic rites
As they copulate on the ground
Bathing themselves
In oceans of blood
SOLO
I am hollow
The fire rages on
Stripping away
What was left of me
Pulled into the black
Stretched and torn
This broken shell
Is longer my own...

8. Worship Her
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
I can't see, the light anymore
This mystery, reveals itself
In two minds, the war is lost
Enthralled, to her...
SOLO
I don't wanna live
Yet I cannot die
The peace within
Turns out to be a lie
Nothing stands in my way
The door, slowly opening
Through the empty
I can hear them coming...
I'm being subsumed
As all light is being consumed
The last fading rays
Eclipsed in the periphery
All my memories, replaced
All that remains is the hate
Senseless and abhorrent
The gleaming effigy, a totem...
I heed their call
I can't see the world anymore
All the things that I used to be
Smothered totally
When the bottom
Finally gives way
Another universe
Of pain
All I touch
Withers away
A conundrum
Of misery
The fall
Blissful in descent
Eternity
With no end
The darkest corners
Of the mind
Revealed
To the night
SOLO
Tears,
Shed in futility
Tainted,
By the beast
There's no love
Only emptiness
A singularity
Of total death
SOLO

9. In Densissimis Tenebris, Silentio Ratum Est
Words and Music By: Jesse Lacharite
Album: Rites
The flames
Can be seen for miles
The belching smoke
From the funeral pyres
Offerings
To the gods of the sky
Blackened earth
The end of life
This withered husk
Tearing at the seems
The power within
Beyond my wildest dreams
SOLO
Where my feet
Touch the ground
The smell of Sulphur
For miles around
The end
Of all that is
Life recoils
From negative energy
A trail
Of desolation
Cutting deep
And severing the connections
Demons,
Replace the souls
Of the thirteen
Satanic nobles
Sowing the seeds
Of death
SOLO
My eyes
Seeing beyond the veil
My life
Slowly impaled
Night,
Rising from the depths
The moon
Is utterly eclipsed
In the end
The silence is overwhelming
Colours
Muted to pale greys
The absence of everything
Turns the world cold
Vistas of annihilation
As far as the eye can see
SOLO
Human candles
Burn as we pass
Screams of agony
Fill the night
Misanthropic
And Moribund
This is how the world will end
Silver steps
Leading the way to hell...
